I.
What
is AC Trade?
AC Trade is a comprehensive
trading tool. Through AC Trade, users can find the items they seek and
purchase them in-game via an AC Trade vendor. AC Trade works two ways.
AC Trade helps sellers compete and advertise their wares while helping
buyers quickly find the items they seek.
II.
How
does AC Trade Work?
AC Trade is a convergence of
Trade bots and Online listings. Sellers using AC Trade can maintain and
watch their AC Trade vendors through either AC Trade’s web or client
side
interface. Sellers who choose to use AC Trade’s web interface can
competitively change their pricing and inspect their vendor's inventory.
Buyers on the other hand, can use AC Trade’s web interface to find the
items they desire and at the best price.
III.
As a
Seller, What can AC Trade do for me?
Perhaps you have seen or used
other online trading lists? Clumsy tools such as those require items to
be manually added to their lists. Such online tools also create hassles
with contacting sellers. Problems no longer, you are now an AC Trader.
With the help of the AC Trade vendor, you can have your vendor's
inventory listed and maintained either online or offline. Through AC
Trade’s online and offline services, you can create a point system and
price your items. Perhaps you are at work, and you’re bored. Want to see
how well your trade vendor is doing? Well, you can! Through AC Trade’s
online system, you can monitor and manage your vendor. AC Traders may
choose to disable AC Trade’s online management. Traders who choose to
disable the online management must maintain their vendor client side.
Registered traders with online management disabled and Web-Interfacing
enabled will still have their
inventories listed online. Unregistered traders will have no online
listings. AC Trade is the best of two worlds; the combined use of trade
bots and online management.
IV. As
a Buyer, What can AC Trade do for me?
Tired of searching through
numerous trade bots? Don’t know where to find the items you seek or
can’t find them? Problems no longer, you are now an AC Trader. With the
help of AC Trade’s online services, you can quickly and easily locate
the items you seek. AC Trade has two search tools: Basic and Advanced.
Through the Basic search tool, you can locate items by name. Through the
Advanced search tool, you can locate items by their properties. It’s
just that simple! No more wasting time and effort looking for the items
you seek.
AC Trade
now features the !Search ability. Say your at marketplace and are
looking to buy something. Using general chat, type "!search
<string>". The traders that have items with names matching your
string will respond to your query. You must wait 10 seconds
between searches. Keep in mind not every trader has the !search
feature activated.
V.
Must I
register for AC Trade?
No. Both Sellers and Buyers
may use AC Trade with out registering. Sellers who wish to use AC
Trade’s online listing or online vendor management must register.
Registration provides features such as online management, online
listings and more! Registration is simple and quick, so register today!
VI.
Registering? You mean I have to pay for this service?
No. AC Trade is a
free service. Registration with AC Trade is free, simple, quick and
confidential. Registering with AC Trade provides features unavailable to non-registered users.
VII.
How
do I register for AC Trade?
A) At the AC Trade
Homepage, click the
Login link at
the top.
B) Click the “Click
here” link to register.
C) Registration only
requires a User Name, Password, Re-Entered Password, Character Name,
Server, and email address. User Name is your AC Trader name. It can, but
does not need to be your in-game name. Choose a valid password, and
choose your server from the drop down menu.
D) It is important
that you provide a valid email address. Should you forget your password;
the Forgot password tool will not be able to help you. At this time,
your email address is shown in your AC Trader information. There will
eventually be an option to show/not show your email address. You
probably should not use an email address associated with your AC
account.
Your Email information is
secure and not public. In the near future, there will be an option
to make your email public.
E) It is also very
important that you do not share your AC Trader name and password with
any one. As a seller, this is especially important. If you choose to use
AC Trade’s online management, others that share your AC Trader
information can change your AC Trade vendor's pricing.
VIII.
How
do I use AC Trade?
A)
Offline Usage
By default, AC Trade's web interfacing option is disabled. With
some setup and web interfacing disabled, the AC Trade plug-in is a fully
functional and autonomous "Trade bot". Follow the following steps
to setup and maintain your AC Trader offline. Ignore all "on-line"
content if you wish not to use it.
I)
Download the AC Trade plug-in and install
it.
II) Go in-game and
accumulate the items you wish to trade on one character. Items you
wish to sell should be placed in the main inventory of the character
you wish to use as an AC Trade vendor. Items you wish not to trade
should not be stored on the character you have chosen. Find an ideal
location for your AC Trade vendor. An Ideal location is a place where
everyone can reach easily. Trade halls or the market place make great
locations to set up shop. You’re now ready to run the AC Trade
plug-in.
III) If Decal or the AC
Trade plug-in is not already running, log out. Launch Decal and make
sure the AC Trade plug-in is activated. It is suggested that you only
run the AC Trade plug-in with no other plug-ins. AC Trade is only
supported as a standalone plug-in.
IV) Required
Settings. When you log in, you may see some red message alerts.
Some of these may be just warnings while others are required settings.
The AC Trade vendor warnings and alerts
pertain to the following:
Keyboard settings:
-Any alpha numeric key set to the "split
selected item". Do NOT assign combination keys such as ctrl-x. (required)
Character settings:
-Disable the "Ignore
All Trade Requests". (required)
-Disable the "Let
other Players Give You Items" (optional)
The plug-in will not
function if you do not meet the required settings.

V) AC Trade Main Tab
At this point you
should now have your character in a prime location and have Decal
running with the AC Trade plug-in active. Click the AC Trade plug-in
tab on the Decal bar. You now should be looking at the new AC Trade
plug-in interface.

AC Trade is no longer a simple three
button plug-in. AC Trade has six tabs (“AC Trade”, “Options”,
“Accounts”, “Speech”, “Points”, “Inventory”).
This AC Trade's main tab. The AC
Trade Username, AC Trade Password field, and Login button are for
interfacing with AC Trade's online database. AC Trade's online
system provides many features such as item listing, on-line item
searches, remote settings, and much more. AC Trade registration
is quick, simple, and secure. If you would like to create an
account with AC Trade's online database,
The AC Trade Username and AC Trade
Password fields clear each time you log into the world of Asheron's
Call. You can save your info by enabling the Save Login Info
check box below the fields.
Each time you enter the world of
Asheron's Call, you should connect to the on-line database by hitting
the Login Button.
Before you Start your trader, you should
check to make sure your Options, Speech, Points, and Inventory pricing
have been set. Check each tab to verify your trader is ready to
trade before clicking Start.
If you intend to use AC Trade off-line,
ignore the AC Trade Username/Password fields and the Login button.
VI)
Options Tab:
Click the “Options
Tab”. It’s now time to set some of your basic options.

Enable Web
interface:
This option connects your AC Trader with
AC Trade's on-line database. This option only lists your items
in the database. However, there are more options below to
enhance your on-line features. If you are not registered, do not enable this option. The
server will not maintain an on-line inventory for non-registered users.
Local/remote usages:
You may choose
to have your AC Trade vendor use local or remote referencing of your
point system, item pricing, and speech messages. Both Local and Remote
settings save your information in a client side file. Remote,
however, uses AC Trade's database as a primary storage source and your
local files as secondary (in the event of a database downtime).
If you chose
not to enable web interface, these options are forced to local.
Point
System Display:
The larger
your point system is, the more items you will want to have per tell.
It is not nice to spam out your customers with too many lines with the
point system.
HTML Log:
Coming soon.
When this feature is functional, you will be able to view/track the
progress of your AC Trader through AC Trade's website via access to
your trader's log file.
Switch
Mouse Buttons:
Should you
have a left handed mouse, check this option. Keep in mind some
mice already support left handed mode.
Logout When
Point Space Depleted:
You should
leave empty space on your trader (either in the main pack or side
packs) for incoming storage. This option logs your trader out
when it absolutely runs out of pack space. This can save your
customers much grief should your trader fill all of its empty space.
Mansion
Visibility:
Due to
Turbine's Housing visibility bug, this feature has been included.
If you intend to set your trader up at any type of player housing,
enable this feature. Each time someone portals into the area,
your trader will turn 15 degrees and then back 15 degrees to normal
position. If you use marketplace, DO NOT enable this feature as
your trader will spin and spin and spin (you get the point).
Enable
Default Pricing:
Tired of
re-pricing everything over and over? If you have default pricing
enabled, and set a price on an item that has no workmanship(keys,
scrolls, notes, ect) then that price will be remembered for future
use. If you have default pricing enabled and have previously set
prices for your items, your new items will be auto priced (to
the last price assigned to them) on a inventory scan.
Pack
Management:
To the far
right of the options tab is pack management. Pack management
keeps track of which packs are for Point Storage (items accepted as
payment) and Sale Storage (items you are selling). The packs
located here should look exactly like the ones in your trader's
inventory. If they differ, click the Scan button. The "P"
icons represent Point storage and "S" Icons represent Sale Storage.
To change which packs hold what, click the "P" and "S" icons.
You can have packs hold both Point Storage and Sale Storage. In
addition, you can have packs that hold neither.
Enable
Resale:
Resale require
default pricing to be enabled. When both options are enabled,
your trader will check to see if items accepted in a trade are in the
default price list. If they are, and there is room in the sale
packs, the item will be moved to a sale pack and be assigned the price
found in the default price list. If web interfacing is enabled,
your trader will update it's online inventory.
Value
Partial Salvage Bags:
With this
feature enabled, your trader will accept partial salvage bags of the
types of salvage your trader accepts. Bags are valued at (full
bag value)*((salvage amount)/100), rounded down to the nearest 1
point. This feature is very helpful in collecting rare quality
materials.
Enable
!Search Requests:
This feature
will allow customers to search your trader through general chat.
This feature will NOT work in the main marketplace room or hallways.
This restriction is in place in order to alleviate spam in the main
room. When customers use "!search <string>" in general chat,
your trader will inform them of the number of items you have matching
the string. Customers must wait 10 seconds between searches.
VII)
Accounts Tab:
Click the “Accounts”
tab. You can set (+/-) discounts and credits with this tab.

The AC Trade client
defaults with no accounts. You are not required to create any
accounts. AC Trade will create accounts for your customers who
over pay in transactions automatically. Skip this tab and
continue to the Speech tab if you are setting up for the first time.
Usage:
Character Name Field:
Type in the exact spelling
of a character's name. You can also click the "?" button for
ease.
“?” button:
This button is a quick
tool. Instead of typing in a character’s name, you can select the
character and hit this button to insert their name into the character
name input box.
Drop Down account
selection menu:
There are six types of
accounts you can create. There are Ban, Credit, Discount, Patron
Discount, Monarchy Discount, and Restock. Restock is not yet
functional.
Value Field:
Only whole (+/-)numbers
should be placed in this field. When discounts are created, the
numbers will show up as a percentage (ie 20=20%).
Add Account:
First fill in the Character
Name Field, Select a type of account from the drop down menu, Place a
whole number in the Value field and then click this button.
Individual discount
accounts:
Place a characters name in
the character name input box. Select “Discount” from the menu to the
right. Insert a number in the far most input box and hit “Add
Account”. The number will appear as a percent in the list.
Sales:
If you would like to have a
generic discount for everyone (such as a holiday deal), use "Everyone"
in the character field.
Individual Credits
accounts:
Place a characters name in
the character name input box. Select “Credit” from the menu to the
right. Insert the amount of credits to bestow and hit “Add Account”.
Ban Accounts:
You may choose to ban
characters from your trader. Keep in mind they can just use
other characters/accounts to use your vendor. The best way to
discourage undesired customers is to give negative monarchy/patron
"discounts". Doing such would charge them more so than normal
customers. Another thing to keep in mind is that any kinds of
bans/negative discounts will limit your customer population, so think
hard before using any of these accounts.
Monarch wide discount
accounts:
Type in a monarch’s name in
the box to the left of the “?” button. Select “M:Discount” from the
menu to the right. Insert a number in the far most input box and hit
“Add Account”. The number will appear as a percent in the list.
Patron wide discounts
accounts:
Same as Monarch discounts,
but choose “P:Discount” from the menu to the right.
Restock Accounts:
Not yet implemented!
Positive and Negative
discounts/credits:
AC Trade Supports Positive
and negative discounts and credits. Shoppers who overpay for items
will be credited an account with the over paid difference. Should you
set a negative credit, the AC Trade vendor will not sell a users with
negative credits until they pay the vendor off. Negative discounts can
be used against rival characters, rival monarchies, grief monarchies,
or UCM monarchies if you wish. Before setting negative discounts or
credits, remember you may loose potential shoppers.
VIII) Speech Tab:
Click the “Speech” tab. Here you will set your vendor’s
greeting, parting, and advertisements.

AC Trade does
not start with any defaults, so this tab will look empty. You
should setup at least one Greeting, Parting, and Ad Message before
starting your trader.
Greetings:
Click the “Add Greeting” button. AC Trade
will place the formatting to add a greeting in the chat window. All
you must do is type in your greeting and hit enter. Add as many
greetings as you wish. To the right of the “Add Greeting” button is a
drop down window. From the drop down window you can select
“Sequential” or “Random”. With "Random", one greeting will
be chosen at random and issued once a trade window is opened.
With "Sequential," all of the greetings (in order) will be issued to
customers.
Partings:
Click the “Add Parting” button. Like the
previous button, a formatting will be placed in the window. Type in
your parting message and hit enter. Like the greeting messages,
"Random" and "Sequential" work exactly the same.
Advertisements:
Click the “Add Ad” button.
Type in an advertisement. All custom advertisements will have the
“<t>” tag attached to them. Built in emotes such as “*wave*” do not
include tags.
If you are registered and
logged in, you can use the “Upload Messages” and “Download Messages”
buttons. The “Upload Messages” button will upload your client side
Messages to the AC Trade server. Your online copy of messages will be
overwritten. The “Download Messages” button will download your online
messages and overwrite your client side Messages. These buttons are
disabled with offline usage.
IX)
Point Tab:
Click the “Points”
tab. Here you will set which items you accept, how many, and at what
price.

AC Trade does
not start with any defaults, so this tab will look empty. You need to
decide what items you wish to accept as payment.
Basic Items:
Let’s add a basic item like
“Platinum Scarab”. Click the drop down menu above the “Add Point Item”
button. You will notice that the drop down menu has many predefined
items. Select “Platinum Scarab” from the drop down menu. At the top of
the tab you will notice a label “Points”. Look straight down from the
label “Points” to the input box below the list. Insert a value at
which you wish to accept a platinum scarab as in the input box. Now
click “Add Point Item”.
Custom Items:
If the item you wish to
accept is not in the drop down menu choose “User defined” from the
drop down menu. In the input box to the left of the “?” button, type
the exact name of the item. If the item is a stackable, place the
pyreal value of the item in “Value” input box. The “Value” input box
is to the right of the “?” button. For stackables, the value should
not be the value of the total stack, but instead, the value of a
single item. Set the “Points” input box and hit the “Add Point Item”
button.
The “?” button can be used
to copy a name into the “Item Name” field. Select an item and hit the
“?” button. The name of the selected item will be placed in the field.
If an item is in the drop
down window, make it easy on yourself and use the drop down menu
instead of “User Defined”.
Setting Limits:
You may have noticed the
“Limit” label above the list. The input box directly below it after
the list is for limits. Say you are tired of people dumping tons of
Sturdy Iron Keys on your vendor. Choose “Sturdy Iron key” from the
drop down menu. In the input box directly under the “Limit” label,
input the number SIKs you wish to limit. In the input box directly
under the “Points” label, input the value you wish to accept SIKs at.
When a limit is reached,
the AC Trade vendor will remove the item from your point system, thus
it will no longer accept the item. For example, if you set a limit of
20 on SIK, your AC Trade vendor will stop accepting SIK once it has 20
SIK.
Accepting Salvage:
Select a salvage type from
the drop down menu. Find the “Min WS” label and look straight down.
You will find a drop down workmanship menu for salvage. Select a
workmanship from the menu. The AC Trade vendor will accept salvage
that meets or exceeds the “Min WS” you have selected. You can accept
many salvage ranges. The vendor will rate salvage at the best price
according to its WS.
Ex. You accept
“Salvaged Iron (100)” with
“Min WS” 4 with “Points” 10
“Salvaged Iron (100)” with
“Min WS” 5 with “Points” 20
“Salvaged Iron (100)” with
“Min WS” 6 with “Points” 30
In this example:
A bag of Salvaged Iron
(100) ws 5.6 is valued at 20 points.
A bag of Salvaged Iron
(100) ws 7.4 is valued at 30 points.
A bag of Salvaged Iron
(100) ws 3.9 is not accepted.
“P” Button:
To view how your point
system will look to users, click the “P” button.
“Upload Point System”,
“Download Point System” Buttons:
If you are registered and
logged in, you can use the “Upload Point System” and “Download Point
System” buttons. The “Upload Point System” button will upload your
current point system to the AC Trade server. Your previous online
point system will be overwritten. The “Download Point System” button
will download your online point system and overwrite your current
point system. These buttons are disabled with offline usage.
X)
Inventory Tab:
Click the “Inventory”
tab. It is time to price your inventory.

This list will be empty on your first time running
the client. Click the “Scan Inventory” button. It may take a few
seconds to scan your full inventory.
You will notice that you
can view your inventory many ways via the drop down menu.
Pricing:
To price an item, click its
icon which is to the left of the item name. A command will be placed
in the chat window. Type a value and hit enter. To easily price
your items, select the +Unpriced drop down before setting prices.
Easy Id:
To easily id an item, click
the item’s name.
Removing an item:
To remove an item from the
list, click the red icon on the far right.
Scan Inventory:
This button scans the items
in your main pack. Each time you add a new item to your inventory for
sale, you must scan your inventory.
Upload Inventory:
This button uploads your
current inventory, shown in the list, to the server. The server’s
previous inventory copy will be overwritten. This button is
disabled with offline usage.
Download Pricing:
Regardless of your security
settings in the option tab, if you hit this button, the AC Trade
vendor will overwrite the current pricing with the server’s copy.
This button is disabled with offline usage.
XI) Start your AC
Trade plug-in. Click the AC Trade tab and click the start
button.
B)

C. As a Buyer, AC Trade
is child's play.
In-game searches via
!Search:
Say your at marketplace and
are looking to buy something. Using general chat, type "!search
<string>". The traders that have items with names matching your

between searches. Keep in mind not every trader has the !search
feature activated.
Online searches:
I) Go to the
Search on the AC Trade website. Choose a
server that you wish to rummage. If you are looking for items by name,
just use the Basic Search Tool.
II) The Basic Search
tool is on the search page. Just type in the name of the item you seek
and click the Perform Search Button. If you are looking for items by
their properties, you will want to use the Advanced Search Tool.

Value, Count (quantity), Price, and Seller name are at your disposal.
V) Have you found an
item you wish to purchase?
Click the seller's link to
the right of the item. A window with detailed information on the
vendor will pop-up.
Go in-game and approach the
AC Trade vendor. Open the AC Trade vendor by double clicking. The AC
Trade vendor will greet you. Like other trade vendors, the AC Trade
vendor will immediately show you its goods.
Clear the trade window by
clicking the clear button. Add the item(s) that you wish to purchase
to the trade window with the “add” command followed by the item’s
name.
When you are ready to
purchase the item(s), place the appropriate amount of payment in the
trade window and use the /buy command. The vendor should have told you
the total price for the items in the window. If it did not, or you
forgotten, use the “total” command. When you place payment in the
window, the vendor should inform you with the items value and the
total amount of credits you have in the window.
If you place something in
the window that the vendor does not accept, the vendor will tell you
it does not accept that item.
Click the trade button
before you issue the "buy" command. If you are a registered AC
Trader, use the “buy” command followed with your AC Trader name. Those
who are not registered or do not want to credit their rating may just
use the “buy” command.
VI) Your transaction
now should be complete. If you used your AC Trader name with the “buy”
command, your rating would have increased by one.
