Where do I get AC Trade?
Use the
download link in the menu above.
Do I need Decal?
Yes. Decal can be found
here.
Installation
What type of installation package will AC Trade use?
The AC Trade installation package is in the form of a .MSI. If you are
unable to use this installation package, you should go to Microsoft's
Windows Update and install the necessary package or tools.
General Usage
How does AC Trade work?
AC Trade is quite simple. AC Trade is divided into two categories:
Seller and Buyer. Sellers are running AC Trade vendors. Sellers can
track their vendor's inventory and maintain/change pricing through either
the AC Trade
Online Management system or AC Trade client. Buyers on the other hand do not use a
plug-in. Buyers will use AC Trade's Online system to locate and
reserve the items they seek.
Do I need to Register?
No. Registering is
not required for either buyers or sellers. Without a registered
account, the AC Trade client can be used as a client side vendor.
However, sellers who chose not to create an AC Trade account will not have
online listings. Registering with AC Trade is free, confidential, and
provides both sellers and buyers with features unavailable to non registered
users. If you need to create an account, you can create one
here.
How do I Log in?
Use the
Login link in the
menu above. If you are not yet registered, you must do so before you
can login. On the client side, the login button is located on the main
tab of the plugin.
What if I Forget my password?
In the event you forget your
password, you can have your password reset and sent to your email account.
To reset your password, you will need your account name, (last used) in-game name and
email address. All three must match your current account information.
You can reset your password
here.
Can I change my user details?
Yes. User details can be changed at anytime. Under
Account Settings, you'll find the
User Details link.
How does the point system work?
Those who use AC Vault, know that everyone has a different opinion on what
tradables are worth. Tradeables are the items in which users accept as
payment. Through a point system, you set the items and price of items
your vendor will accept. You must create a point system before your AC
Trade vendor will sell.
More information on
point
systems.
What is my trade rating for?
Your trade rating shows how many trades you have
completed. Sellers who run a AC Trade vendor will increase their
rating with each trade. Registered Buyers who purchase items from AC
Trade vendors will increase their rating. The AC Trade home page now
features AC Trade's Top Ten traders.
How do I check my account status?
Your account status can be found by using the
Account
Settings link. From there you must click the
Account Status link.
What happens if the AC Trade Server goes down?
The AC Trade server is hosted by a professional web host, its unlikely that
the server will go down. However, in the event that the AC Trade server does
go down, AC Trade plug-ins will not cease to function. Should the
server go down, AC Trade clients using any remote references will begin to
reference their local copies.
Can I
run more than one trader on one AC Trade account?
Yes and no. You can use any of your
characters from any server with one AC Trade account. However, you can
not run 2 traders simultaneously with one AC Trade account. If you
wish to run more than one trader simultaneously, each will need an account.
What
filters does AC Trade need?
AC Trade requires Impfilter and
Spellfilter. Without these filters, inventory scans can not properly
scan your items.
Buyer Usage
How
do I use the search tool?
This is quite simple.
Go to the Search link in the menu. On the
search page, you will find a Basic Search tool. Basic Search can be
used to find items by name. If you wish to find items by stats, you
will need to use the Advanced Search tool. The Advanced Search can
help you find items by their properties.
How
do I make a trade in-game?
Quite simple. If you
have found a item through the AC Trade search tool, look to the right of the
item listing and click on the vendor's name. A window with the vendors
information such as point system, location and more will open. Go to the
specified location to trade with the vendor. Open a window with the
vendor. Clear the window by clicking the AC clear trade button.
Add the item you want with the "add" command.
Examples of the add command:
/tell [vendor], add singularity key
/tell [vendor], add 3, singularity key
(numbers preceding name are specify quantity)
/tell [vendor], add gold amuli coat, 1578
(numbers following name are values, to differentiate like items)
Now place your payment in the trade window. Click
the trade button and use the "buy" command.
/tell [vendor], buy
To improve your AC Trade
Rating when making a purchase, you must provide the vendor with your AC
Trade user name with the "buy [your AC Trade account name]" command.
Non registered AC Trade Buyers may still use a AC Trade vendor.
/tell [vendor], buy lionclaw
How
do I use !search?
Using
general chat, type "!search <string>". The traders that have items with
names matching your string will respond to your query. You must wait 10
seconds between searches. Keep in mind not every trader has the !search
feature activated.
How
do I buy items like arrow heads from AC Trade vendors?
Many items such as stackables have plural
names. AC Trade does not like plural names. Generally, when
checking such items, use the singular form of the name. Sometimes the
item may have a shortened name or contain multiple plural words (in such
cases it gets tricky).
Examples:
When buying deadly arrow heads, you'll
notice the stack is named "Wrapped Bundles of Deadly Fire arrows". Use
these commands:
[check wrapped bundle of deadly {type}
arrowheads]
[add #, wrapped bundle of deadly {type}
arrowheads]
When buying Chorizite Potions, you'll
notice the stack is named "Chorizite Potions." Use these commands:
[check Chorizite]
[add #, Chorizite]
Most traders who sell stackable items
with misleading names have greeting information regarding the usage of their
names.
Seller Usage
How
do I use the plug-in?
A detailed guide can be found
here.
How
do I establish a point system?
There are two ways to create and maintain a point system:
Client side:
Client side documentation can be found
here.
Online:
Login to the AC Trade online system.
Then go to the
Settings link in the main menu. Go to the
Shop Settings link.
If you have not been set up as a seller, follow the instructions. Go
to the Point System link. Here you will see a list of tradables you
accept as payment. Below the list is an add item tool. To add tradables, you must
at least specify their exact name and a point value. If you add a
tradeable that needs to be differentiated by value or burden, both value and
burden fields must be filled.
Point value is the value at which you will accept this item at. Should you need
to change the items you want to accept, use the remove and add tools.
To allow AC Trade's online services to interact with your
vendor, you must have enabled web interface in the client's options tab.
If you have chosen remote point system in the client's options tab, your AC
Trader will always attempt to reference the server's copy of your point
system. With a remote point system, the AC Trade client will only
reference your local copy should the server be down. If you have
chosen local point system in the client's options tab, your AC Trader will
always reference your local copy.
Where is the best place for my shop?
Just about anywhere. The ideal location to set up
shop will be in a location that is easily accessible by all. The
market place will likely be the best place to set up shop. Be
courteous to your fellow gamers by placing your vendor in the rooms with
vendor stalls. Placing your vendor in the main room is discouraged.
Should you be using AC Trade
on the Darktide server, Trade through housing shields should be easily
accommodated.
How
do I set prices for items in my shop?
There are two ways to set your shop pricing.
Client side:
Client side documentation can be found
here.
Online:
Go to the
Account Settings link in the menu
above. At the Account Settings page, click the
Inventory link. Now your looking at a listing of your inventory.
To the left of each entry is a input box. This input box is for
pricing your items. If you do not see items in a list, you most likely
have not updated your AC Trade vendor in-game. To change your item
prices, change the input box next to the items you wish to sell. You
should input a number that corresponds with your point system. To
successfully update your price changes, you Must hit the "Update Prices"
button. Keep in mind, items that you do not specify a price will not
be for sale. Items that you do not accept as payment and do not wish
to sell should not be stored on your AC Trade vendor.
Note: You will want to update your prices with the "Update Prices" button
before you attempt to remove an item from the list. Any changes made to
the list will be lost if a item is removed before a updating.
How do I disable the client side log?
The AC Trade plug-in log can be disabled by making the
log file read only. Go to your character directory in the AC Trade
directory. Right click your log file and choose properties.
Click the read only check box and save.
How do I access my log?
The log file is stored in
your AC Trade folder. By default, it is located at c:\program files\actrade\<bot
name & server>\log.txt. Soon you will be able to view your log
on-line.
How
do I check my messages?
At the AC console, type "/act messages".
You can clear your messages with "/act clear_messages."
What
are the S and P for over the packs in the AC Trade Options Tab?
The "S" icon represents "Sale item pack."
Packs that have "S" icons will contain items for sale. Packs with "S"
crossed out will not contain sale items.
The "P" icon represents "Point item
pack." Packs that have "P" icons will contain items that were accepted
as payment. Packs with "P" icons crossed out will not contain items
accepted as payment.
Click the icons to change them to crossed
out icons and vise versa.
Can
I sell multiple items for one price (ie stack sales)?
No. AC Trade does not yet support
stack sales (ie: a whole stack or multiple items at one fixed price).
AC Trade does support stackable sales and
automatically maintains splitting. However, stackables need to be
priced at X points per item. When pricing a stack in your inventory,
the point value you assign to the stack will be the cost per individual
item.
Stack Sales/Multiple item sales will be a
future feature.
When is the online inventory updated?
The online inventory is updated on the
following events (when you are logged in):
Hitting the start button - Inventory will
update online if the online inventory does not match that of your trader.
Item removal/addition - When your trader
sells/accepts items they are updated with the online inventory
Update inventory button - Will update
your online inventory.
*Online Management Note* Inventory
changes (like pricing) made through AC Trade's online management may take up
to 5 minutes before taking effect on your trader.

My AC client crashes to desktop when I launch AC!
Verify that your version of Decal is current and updated.
My AC client crashes to desktop when someone opens a
trade window!
Verify that your version of Decal is current and updated.
Also verify that you have the latest version of Imp Filter.
My AC Trader does not trade!
Verify that your version of Decal is current and updated.
Also verify that you have the latest version of Imp Filter. If you are
using a left handed mouse, make sure to check the reverse mouse buttons
option in the options tab. If you continue to have this problem, a
fresh install of Decal and AC Trade might do the trick.
My trader
is spinning in circles! What is wrong?
Check your options tab. You might
have the Mansion visibility feature enabled when it should not be.
Only enable Mansion Visibility when your trader is located at player
housing. If it is enabled at Marketplace, your trader will most likely
spin in circles without returning to it's original position.
I'm
getting error messages!
Under certain non-operation conditions
you may have error messages. There are usually only two types of error
messages (AC Trade messages and Decal messages). AC Trade error
messages are identified by the "ACTrade" Tag; Decal likewise.
Here is an ACTrade example error:
ACTrade:
[11:38:26 PM, 1/3/2004] Error in StartTrade: Object variable or With block
variable not set
Error messages normally pop up after
Asheron's Call patches where your decal memory locs no longer function
correctly.
Fixes:
Update your Decal via the
update button on Decal.
*Keep in mind - If you are encountering
error messages after a patch, It may take some time for the Decal Devs to
release working memory locs*
If you continue to have the errors, you
may want to uninstall both AC Trade/Decal and reinstall both.
This will insure that you have non-corrupted installs. If the problem
persists, please post on the AC Trade Forums.
My trader
is not valuing items: "I do not value that item."
If the item was entered manually in the
points tab, the problem may be the spelling. Recheck the spelling of
the item.
AC Trade does not like plural forms of
spelling. For example, "Platinum Scarab" is correct while "Platinum
Scarabs" is INCORRECT.
IMPORTANT: To avoid plural spelling
problems, check to see if items you wish to accept are in the drop down menu
of predefined items. It is much easier to select a predefined item
from the drop down menu (on the Points Tab), place a point value in the
Point Field (far right field), and click the Add Item button.
If you continue to have problems or would
like to suggest additions to the Predefined Items drop down menu, please
visit our Forums.
My trader
is not splitting stackables!
Verify that your split selected key
(Asheron's Call Keyboard assignment) is assigned to a alpha-numeric key.
Most commonly it is assigned to 't'. Combination key assignments may
NOT be used (ex ctrl-x).
Uninstalling
In the AC Trade folder you
will find a uninstall file. You may use that file or uninstall AC
Trade through windows uninstall found in the control panel under Add/Remove
Programs.
